Notice effective from

NOTICE IS GIVEN that on 2 March 2020 County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Oxfordshire County Council (The City of Oxford) (Central Area) (Traffic Management) (Consolidation) Order 2003 will be further amended accordingly. The order, which comes into force on 9 March makes changes to the layout of the crossroads junction of Worcester Street -Hythe Bridge Street - George Street where vehicle movement will be re-prioritised. There will be an enhanced 'pedestrian refuge' across and separating Worcester Street (south) and George Street from Hythe Bridge Street/Worcester Street (north) which will prevent motor vehicles passing through but allowing free cycle movement. The change in road signage will direct the following:

? The main through route for traffic (west to north) will be from Hythe Bridge Street into Worcester Street north, and vice versa.

? Local traffic (permitted vehicles only - buses, cycles, access and deliveries) will be able to travel from George Street into Worcester Street south and vice versa.
