APPLICATION UNDER THE LICENSING ACT 2003

Oxford Brookes University has applied to Oxford City Council for a variation of a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003 for Oxford Brookes University Centre for Sport, Cheney Lane, Headington, Oxford, OX3 0GB to make following variations to the existing premises licence: (a) to regularise hours during which alcohol may be sold until 23:00; (b) to include additional regulated entertainment (provision of indoor sporting events, live and recorded music and facilities for dancing) in the Centre for Sport between the hours of 09:00 and 23:00; (c) to include use of a marquee sited within the grounds; and (d) to permit additional events per year - for Freshers’ Week and on six additional occasions - where alcohol and entertainment (save for indoor sporting events) may continue until 02:00 and to permit late night refreshment at events from 23:00 to 02:00. Representations in respect of this application must be made in writing to Oxford City Council at the above address by 4th August 2011.

IT IS AN OFFENCE TO KNOWINGLY OR RECKLESSLY MAKE A FALSE STATEMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THIS APPLICATION. THE MAXIMUM FINE FOR WHICH A PERSON IS LIABLE ON SUMMARY CONVICTION FOR THIS OFFENCE IS £5,000.
