EDDIE Pepperell dropped shots on his final two holes to miss out on a potential top 30 finish at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.

The Abingdon golfer had fired three successive birdies to climb the leaderboard at North Berwick.

But he then bogeyed the 17th and 18th to drop back to 12-under for the tournament.

It saw him finish in a share of 43rd.

Pepperell recorded two rounds of 67 to go into the weekend on eight under.

The Frilford Heath member then carded a 69 on Saturday, with four birdies and two bogeys.

He got off to a flying start in his final round with a birdie at the first.

He picked up further shots at the fourth and seventh, dropping one at the fifth, to reach the turn at two-under.

He was, however, unable to build on this on the back nine, in which he hit four birdies, four bogeys and one par.

Pepperell is next in action at The Open at Royal Portrush this week.
