OXFORD City continued their busy week with the signing of five players.

Captain Joe Oastler, Eddie Jones, Craig Fasanmade and Kyran Wiltshire have committed to the club for the 2019/20 season.

Boss Mark Jones has also added a new face to his squad with the signing of former Braintree Town winger Daniel Rowe.

It builds on their business earlier in the week which saw Zac McEachran, Ben Jefford, Josh Ashby and Jack Self stay on at City.

Having been moved into Motorama National League North for next season, Jones had feared losing skipper Oastler.

But the centre back, who has made 97 appearances in two years, was eager to re-sign.

Jones said: “I'm absolutely delighted.

“It was looking as though he wouldn't be able to commit to the club with the travel from his home in Portsmouth.

“But he contacted me a couple of days ago to say that he's really enjoying his football here and enjoys playing for the club, and it’s fantastic that he's committed himself for another season.

“He's our captain, our centre half, an excellent player – it would have been nigh on impossible to replace him so I'm absolutely over the moon to be working with him again.”

Fasanmade has signed his first full-time contract with City and Jones sees a lot of potential in the winger.

He said: “I can see him playing a really big role for us next season, and I'm pleased for him as he really deserves it.

“Craig's another player who has come through our academy over the past few seasons, and we hope he can be another young player who makes a big impact on the first team.”
