DES Buckingham says there will be no permanent exits from Oxford United on deadline day, amid rumours of Sky Bet Championship clubs chasing Tyler Goodrham.

The 20-year-old has been a bright spark for United this season, continuing the impressive breakthrough campaign he enjoyed last year.

U’s head coach Buckingham though says the club will not be selling any of their star players today.

He said earlier this afternoon: “We won’t be sending anyone out in terms of permanents, nobody will be leaving, I can assure you of that.

“We’re very much clear on where we want to get to, and we need those players to help us get there, and they’re all with us on that train to try and get there.

“In terms of loans, potential loans could go out, but that would depend on what we get in.

“We’ve got a lot of young players, and if they go out, it will be on loan with a view to coming back.

“If we get the opportunity to get them out, we certainly will do.”

On potential incomings, he said: “We’re still in for a striker, we’re all working extremely hard to try and make that happen. If we can get what we want, it’ll put us in a very good space.”
