APRIL 13 will be a special day for Oxford Cheetahs as they contest their first league fixture for 15 years.

Jason Crump’s team will host Scunthorpe Scorpions at Oxford Stadium in their first Championship meeting of the 2022 season.

It is set to be an emotional evening at Sandy Lane, as Cheetahs celebrate their return to the sport competitively having folded in 2007.

They may contest a pre-season fixture before that, but nothing has been confirmed.

The five-time national champions learnt their 2022 fixtures this morning, with the first away trip coming on April 15 when they visit Poole Pirates.

Cheetahs’ last scheduled meeting of the campaign also comes at Sandy Lane, against Edinburgh Monarchs on August 17.
