OXFORD City Stars have announced the re-signing of a former junior player after a spell in Canada.

Theo Bundock came through the Stars’ youth ranks before crossing the Atlantic.

The 22-year-old forward scored 26 goals for Grey Highlands Hawks and nine for Bancroft Rockhounds during his time in Ontario.

He initially re-signed for the Stars for the season that was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m really looking forward to being back at my hometown club and getting back on the ice,” he said.

“The squad is looking good and I’m excited about what we can do.”

Dean Birrell, Stars’ head coach, added: “Theo put up some impressive numbers with a lot of goals and assists while he was abroad.

“He will have benefited from more ice time and the life experience of living abroad.

“He is coming back to Oxford as a stronger player.

“Theo is young, fast, a goalscorer and a hard worker.

“I’m looking forward to working with him, and he can become a key part of our future.”

Bundock spent six years in the junior set-up with the Stars, part of the double-winning side in 2017/18, scoring five goals in 11 appearances.
