OXFORD United will narrowly miss out on a six-figure sum if Brentford win the Sky Bet Championship play-off final tonight.
The Bees, who face Fulham at Wembley for a place in the Premier League, signed Shandon Baptiste and Tariqe Fosu from the U's in January.
Baptiste's deal included a clause, understood to be worth £500,000, if Brentford went up to the top flight.

But it only becomes active once the midfielder makes a specified number of appearances in a campaign.
Baptiste has featured 13 times, three of which were starts, for Brentford so far, including as a substitute in the play-off semi-final first leg at Swansea City.
But even if he plays tonight, the total will be just shy of triggering the pay-out to United.
It does cover the length of the contract, so if Brentford lost tonight and went up next season the U's would stand to gain - if Baptiste played enough games.
