DAVID Oldfield says Oxford City will be happy to comply with whatever the Vanarama National League decides to determine their season.
The competitions below City have had their campaigns expunged after the coronavirus pandemic brought sport to a halt.
It means Oldfield’s side, who are 14th in the South division cannot be relegated if the season does resume.
Discussions are ongoing between the National League and the Football Association about reaching a conclusion.
But Oldfield, who only took over earlier this month, is open-minded about the outcome.
He said: “From our point of view, whatever happens the safety of the players is paramount.
“Really whichever way the decision goes we will accept it and have to get on with it.
“We are just looking for guidance from above.
“We are not in Oxford United’s position, where we are close to promotion and for them it’s been a long time since they’ve had that chance at their level.
“We are not suffering from those strains of looking over our shoulders either.
“It’s a different scenario for us.”
