SAXTON Rovers emphatically moved up to second in Division 1 as they hammered Cholsey United 7-0 in the North Berks League.

Two goals apiece from Niall Hodgkins and Kyle Allsworth led the rout, with further goals coming from Ryley Stone, Billy Wilson and Harry Stanley.

The bad weather did not halt Drayton, as they came back from Long Wittenham with a 5-1 win.

Josh Dennis bagged a brace, with Carl Bolton, Alex Kerry and Charlie Marsh also finding the target. Joe Murphy scored for the hosts.

There were goals galore at Steventon where they lost 7-6 to visitors North Oxford, who collected their first points of the season.

Ebrima Saidy hit a hat-trick for North Oxford, with Charlie Appiah (2), Jack Hinkin and Josh Bowles also on target.

Steventon replied through a Jon Green hat-trick and further goals from Zach Weller, Lewis Camm and Joe Cavill.

Berinsfield moved into the second round of the North Berks Charity Shield with a 4-1 win at home to East Hendred.

Max Palmer, Joe Bennett, Charlie Lee and Simon Kenny scored their goals.

Watlington Town beat Lambourn Sports 5-3 in a thrilling contest.

Brandon Burton led the way with a treble, with Jake Braim and Tom Bowden also hitting the target.

Lambourn replied through Luke Phillips (2) and Damian Harris.

Ryan Stockford slammed a four-timer for Minster Lovell as they cruised into the second round of the Fred Ford Cup with a crushing 9-1 win over visitors Middle Barton on Saturday.

Johnny Fletcher added a hat-trick, with Sam Wright (2) scoring the others.

Middle Barton replied through John Umney, but it was no consolation.

The weekend’s heavy rain meant a truncated league programme, but Tower Hill’s spirits were not dampened as they hammered Spartan Rangers 8-2 in the Premier Division.

Yasin Elouahabi led the way with a hat-trick, with Sam Britnell (2), James Scott, Lewis Bartlett and Kieran Watts also on target.

Harry Thompson and a Josh Hookins penalty were Spartan’s replies.

Carterton Town A and Carterton Rangers battled through the wind and rain to a thrilling 4-4 draw.

Rich Hall (2), Alex Bradley and Ben Hayes netted for Town, with doubles for Jonny Dover and Adam Lee earning Rangers a share of the points.

In Division 1, Witney Royals thrashed Kingham All Blacks 7-2.

Ozzy Oswald bagged a brace, with Corey Donohoe, Luke Rippington, Josh Grant, Liam Readhead and an own goal completing Royals’ tally.

Kingham hit back through Dale Norris and Gaz Price.

Jay Mair slammed a double hat-trick for Hook Norton as they ran out 8-4 winners at Brize Norton in Division 2.

Harry Prickett and Tyler Bradley were also on target, with Brize’s replies coming from Adam Davis, Rob Hook and penalties from Shaun Rawlings and Ryan Weston.

Jay Sharkey and Shaun Jacobs bagged braces for Saints, with Kyle Harris-Steele also on target, while Rob Andrews scored for Kennington.

Middleton Cheney beat Charlgrove Cavaliers 4-2 to go top of Division 1, while M.I.N.I triumphed 2-1 over Lusitanos Oxford.

In Division 2, Mansfield Road Res won 5-2 at Chinnor Res.

OXFORDSHIRE SENIOR CUP

Aaron Dineen, Dan Watkin, Ash Balfour and Aaron Field all scored as Cropedy beat Bicester United 4-1 in round two, Rowan Chappell with Bicester’s goal.

Launton Sports beat Charlton United 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw, while Jack Morton scored a hat-trick as Hanborough beat Summertown Stars 5-1.

Goals from James Worsfold and Jake Dillon saw Woodcote win 2-1 at Mansfield Road, Josh Warburton on target for the hosts.

Ardley United were 6-0 winners at Yarnton, Tobias London (2), Will McEachran (2), Dylan Woodhall and Alex Wheeler the scorers.

OXFORD CITY FA LEAGUE

Jelroy Constant and Marlon James hit hat-tricks as table-toppers Chequers beat Union Street 11-2.

There were also comfortable victories for Black Swan and Oxford Leys.

The former won 10-0 at Summertown Stars, while Oxford Leys thrashed Oxford Irish 8-0.
