CALLUM Russell’s century at the end of last month helped him finish June as the top-scoring batsman for Oxfordshire’s six Home Counties Premier League sides.
The wicket-keeper/batsman hit 117 not out in Thame Town’s Division 2 victory over Harefield on Saturday.
It saw Russell, who scored 70 against Dinton the previous week, end the month with 208 runs.
Aston Rowant’s Tom Condon, thanks to half-centuries against Banbury, Buckingham Town and High Wycombe, was second with 194.
Horspath’s overseas star Darryl Brown was third on 181 and the South African now sits second in the overall standings.
He has closed the gap to Oxford’s Muhammad Ayub, who has scored 299 runs in eight matches, to nine.
Shami Mendis was the star bowler in June, claiming 13 victims, to become the joint-leading wicket-taker on 18 with Thame’s Faisal Ali.
