OXFORD United are bidding to sign off 2017 with a victory when they travel to London Bees this afternoon.

The U’s return to FA Women’s Super League 2 action at the Hive, eyeing a third triumph of the season.

In doing so, Andy Cook’s side would end a seven-game winless run in all competitions.

Their most recent defeat came in last weekend’s 5-1 loss at home to Doncaster Rovers Belles in the Women’s Super League Continental Tyres Cup.

Goals have also been hard to come by as United have only netted five times since their last triumph – a 3-1 win over Watford Ladies at the beginning of October which saw them start the season with back-to-back victories.

Despite the poor run, Cook’s side have still only lost once in the league.

And the United boss is eyeing a positive result to head into the Christmas break on a high.

He said: “The big thing for me now, and this is what I’ll be hammering home, is that we can finish the end of the year and the beginning of the season with one loss, three wins and two draws.

“If you’d asked us at the start of the season and said that’s what we’d have at Christmas, you’d be happy with that.”
