Police have issued a warning after receiving multiple reports of 'aggressive' and 'abusive' cyclists and e-bike riders in Didcot.

Thames Valley Police's neighbourhood policing team for Didcot and Wallingford said several more people have got in touch about the behaviour of cyclists after an appeal was issued on Monday, October 12.

The appeal said a man riding an electric dirt-style bike approaching a dog walker on the footpath near Didcot Road and Great Western park on September 7, at about 6.30pm.

Following a verbal altercation, the rider allegedly threatened to hit the victim with their bike and run over their dog before leaving the area.

Anyone who saw what happened has been asked to come forward - but in the week since, on Sunday, October 17, police said multiple reports have been made about cyclists being aggressive towards pedestrians.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The Didcot and Wallingford Neighbourhood Team issued a post on Monday regarding an electric cyclist who allegedly made threats towards a member of the public on a footpath in Didcot.

"Since then, we have received several further reports of cyclists behaving aggressively or being verbally abusive towards pedestrians across Didcot.

"While some of these reports include similar descriptions of those involved, others contain very limited information.

"We would encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses incidents of this nature to report them to us, whether at the time via 999 or after the event via 101 or online webform.

Police asked people to include useful details in reports like the approximate age, height, sex, ethnicity and features of the perpetrator, plus descriptions of their clothing and details of their bike or vehicle.
