A showcase of life-saving medical operations and rapid-response capabilities was held at RAF Brize Norton.

The Capability Demonstration Day, hosted by RAF Tactical Medical Wing, highlighted the critical role of the Air Medical Force in supporting defence operations worldwide.

Senior military leaders, defence partners and stakeholders attended to see first-hand the specialist teams and advanced equipment behind the UK’s global aeromedical capability.

Wing Commander Rosie Barrow, officer commanding TMW, said: "This event showcased the exceptional people, specialist expertise and operational capability that make TMW and the Air Medical Force such a vital part of Defence.

"Our people stand ready to deliver life-saving care anywhere in the world, whether supporting deployed operations, responding to crisis, or bringing sick and injured patients safely home."

Supported by II Squadron RAF Regiment, the day included dynamic demonstrations of care delivery in complex and austere environments, from point of injury through to strategic Aeromedical Evacuation back to the UK.

The event showcased capabilities spanning the Operational Patient Care Pathway.

Group Captain Becky Woolley, Medical Force Commander, said: "The Air Medical Force provides an operationally critical capability for Defence, combining clinical excellence with military readiness to ensure the right care can be delivered at the right place and at the right time.

"In an increasingly uncertain world, the need for highly trained, rapidly deployable medical teams has never been greater."
