A shared ownership scheme is offering buyers a more affordable route onto the property ladder.

Blenheim Estate Homes is offering the scheme at its Park View development in Woodstock, where three house types are available.

A special moving package worth up to £6,500 is also being offered to those who reserve and move in before Christmas.

Becky Wakefield, affordable housing manager at Blenheim Estate Homes, said: "Shared ownership is a fantastic way to get onto the property ladder or make your budget go further; the combined cost of rent and mortgage payments is typically lower than buying a similar property outright or renting privately.

"The deposit is calculated on the price of a buyer’s share rather than the full value of the home, so initial costs stay low."

The scheme allows buyers to purchase a share of a home starting from 40 per cent of its market value, with the option to increase their share over time.

Three property types are available through the scheme: a one-bedroom apartment with allocated parking, a two-bedroom apartment with a study and allocated parking, and a two-bedroom flat with a study and a garage.

Also, there is a £6,500 moving package that includes Carpet in a buyer’s chosen colour, one year’s service charge, a £500 John Lewis voucher and a Christmas tree from the nearby Blenheim Estate.
