An Oxford bar wants to extend its hours for licensable activities until 4am on certain days.

Plush Lounge, located in Frewin Court, has applied to Oxford City Council to extend the hours for selling alcohol, showing films, and hosting live and recorded music, dance, and other entertainment.

The proposed extension is until 4am the following morning on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and until 3am on other days.

Plush Lounge also wants to offer late-night refreshments from 11pm until 4am on the same days, and until 3am on all other days.

If the application is approved, the bar will open for half an hour longer than the hours for licensable activities.

The conditions attached to the premises licence would also be updated.

Residents and interested parties have until October 30 to submit their views to Oxford City Council.

Representations must be made in writing to the Licensing Authority at Oxford City Council, Town Hall, St Aldate's, Oxford, OX1 1BX, or by email to licensing@oxford.gov.uk.

The council’s register and the application record can be inspected during normal business hours at the council’s address or on the council’s website.

The application notice, published on October 9, states that it is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application, and that a person is liable to an unlimited fine on conviction should such a false statement be made.

The application is being handled by Poppleston Allen, a law firm based in Nottingham.

The application will be open for feedback until October 30.
