Dramatic video footage shows the moment a man tried to flee officers in Reading after a police car chase.

Jack Cann, 30, of Linacre Close in Didcot, was caught by officers from Thames Valley Police after driving dangerously through the town centre.

The driver was charged with one count each of dangerous driving, drug driving, driving without insurance and disqualified driving.

He has been sentenced to 11 months in prison following a court hearing at Slough Magistrate's Court.

Cann has also been handed a driving ban of two years and 30 months.

PC Jamie Payne said: “Jack’s driving didn’t just put himself at risk, it placed innocent members of the public in real danger.

"His actions showed a complete disregard for the law and for the safety of anyone else on the road.

"We were not prepared to let that go unchallenged.”
