This comical trio caused plenty of laughter as they walked from Blackbird Leys in Oxford to Yarnton, raising £200 for charity in 1988.
Michael Brackett, 40, his daughter Serena, left, and her friend, Siobhan Harrison, both 11, donned the clown and Father Christmas costumes you see in the picture above.
Mr Brackett, of Sandy Lane, Blackbird Leys, said: “We had planned to do the walk in street clothes, but we thought we might attract more attention and more money if we dressed in these outfits.
“The whole thing was the girls’ idea. I think I must have had too much to drink when I agreed to join in.”
The walk was in aid of the premature baby unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
