A new mini-supermarket in Abingdon is calling for more customers.

Abingdon Supermarket has opened in Bath Street in April and is run by Saka Beg.

Born in Iraq, Ms Beg grew up in Germany and has lived in Abingdon for six years.

She used to help run a small restaurant in the same shop unit and decided to try running a mini-supermarket instead.

"I drive to Covent Garden twice a week to get fresh fruit and vegetables."

The shop also sells lots of different groceries, vapes and cigarettes and Ms Beg said the store has "very competitive prices".

The supermarket is close to a new ice cream parlour and Lebanese takeaway opened last month by Santino Hamze.
