Those looking to book a meal out should look no further than the latest batch of high-rated Oxfordshire venues.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 10 Oxfordshire venues, according to the Food Standards Agency website - and the local businesses have impressed.

There is something for everyone - whether you're looking for a golf club meal in Chipping Norton or a bar in Didcot

Five restaurants, cafes and canteens received top marks for hygiene with five star ratings, with another venue close behind on four stars. 

The Wallingford Tea Room in High Street and White's Windmill Café in Mill Lane of Chinnor, were two local eateries to receive five stars for hygiene. 

Aangon Indian Restaurant in Carterton, Whistlers Café Bar and Restaurant in Chipping Norton and the The Wychwood Golf Club at Lyneham near Chipping Norton were also high achievers with the best hygiene rating of five stars. 

Djangos Smoke House at 126 Broadway in Didcot was not far behind with four stars. 

Turning to pubs, bars and nightclubs in the region, three venues have received five star ratings while takeaway joint Mezemas at OX39 received five stars.  

The Unicorn at Colmore Lane in Henley, the Prince of Wales in Station Road of Didcot and the Star Inn in Market Place, Woodstock, all took home five stars.
