To mark International Women’s Day, an energy supplier based in Bicester has launched a month-long donation drive supporting a women’s charity.

Valda Energy has set up the campaign in support of Smart Works to run for four weeks.

The charity aims to assist those who are overcoming unemployment barriers by equipping them with resources and support for economic independence.

Head of marketing at Valda Energy, Lynsey Tamlyn, said: "Valda Energy recognises the importance of equipping women with the resources and support necessary to achieve economic independence and success.

"As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we are proud to stand with Smart Works in their mission to empower women and promote equality in the workplace.

"Through this initiative, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women in our community."

Smart Works supports women by providing them with professional clothing, interview coaching, and support.

This helps them to gain confidence and the skills needed to secure future employment opportunities.

During the campaign, Valda Energy is encouraging individuals to donate good quality professional clothing items including suits, blouses, and accessories.

These contributions can be made at designated drop-off locations or through online platforms.

Valda Energy said the initiative "demonstrates its commitment to supporting women's empowerment and fostering a more inclusive society".
