A MURDER-accused woman who killed, dissected and dismembered a cat said she was told to do it.

Scarlet Blake, now 26, is on trial at Oxford Crown Court charged with the murder of Jorge Carreno.

She is accused of allegedly strangling the 30-year-old Spanish man at Parsons Pleasure in the early hours of July 25, 2021 before pushing him in the water.

Blake has denied having any involvement.

The jury heard she has previously admitting to stealing her neighbour's cat, dissecting it, dismembering it and putting it in a blender while on live stream to her former partner, Ashlynn Bell.

Speaking about the incident on Monday (February 19) while giving evidence on the stand, Blake said she was 'conditioned' to do it and she felt 'guilty, awful and lost'.

"It came to a situation where I felt like I wasn't able to refuse that request," said Blake.

"It's something I very much didn't want. So I suppose I emotionally distanced myself from the animal to be able to do it.

"It was to make her happy. Something she wanted me to do. So I pretended to enjoy it.

"It was a combination of various things. I don't recollect them well as it was the end of the period where I didn't really eat anything for three months as that was one of her demands.

"She was conditioning me to obey what she wanted me to do. I would be rewarded if I followed instructions and punished if I don't.

"It was an automatic response. It was classical conditioning."

She continued: "I was trying to meet expectations, meet demands and be happy about it.

"To narrate a different persona to act as if I was someone who enjoy the suffering of others and animals.

"To be who I'm not...how do you hurt someone who is asking you to hurt them?

"I suppose...you make them do something that they wouldn't even dream of. I guess this is what happened."

Blake added: "I felt awful, I feel guilty, I felt loss, I didn't know what to do.

"I expected the cat to die a lot quicker

"It's why I ended up stabbing it through the heart...to stop the suffering I suppose...something I could do without it looking like I was freaking out.

"I was focusing on that and pretending it was an inanimate object.

"I guess I was pretending the cat wasn't real."

She said she removed the eyes of the cat for 'dramatic effect' and because it was 'entertaining' for Miss Bell.

The trial continues.
