A Slough man has been spared a driving ban as he would ‘lose his job’.
Imran Bashir, of High Street, was caught going 107mph on the M1 in Hemel Hempstead on September 21, 2021.
This meant he was going 37mph over the speed limit in his blue Mercedes C200 AMG.
The 44-year-old appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on August 3, 2022 to argue his case against a driving ban.
Bashir claimed he had mitigating circumstances, suggesting he would lose his job if he was forbidden from the roads.
The court accepted his mitigation and spared him a driving ban despite accumulating enough points on his licence.
Instead, he was fined £550 and made to pay a £55 victim surcharge, as well as £90 in court costs.
