AN Oxfordshire college has closed early today due to staff sickness.

Meadowbrook College, in Raymund Road, Marston, closed today (20) at 12.30pm as a result.

The Alternative Provision (AP) Academy, which is based within the Radcliffe Academy Trust, will resume normal opening times from tomorrow (21).

No other schools or colleges across the county have been reported as closed today but many were shut during the start of the week due to the heatwave.

Record breaking temperatures were seen across Oxfordshire on Monday (18) and Tuesday (19) causing several schools to close their doors for the safety of the pupils.

Many schools and colleges are due to close this week regardless as the summer holidays, which are usually about six weeks long, are starting.
