Eynsham Carnival returned at the weekend with a clash of sticks and jingle of bells as Morris dancing filled the village square.

The annual event, which took place on Saturday, is one of the oldest carnivals in the county. It celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2016.

Main attractions this year included a parade, craft fair, arena acts, fun fair and the famous 'shirt race' – a contest on improvised prams.

There was then float judging followed by the shirt race and then the craft fair.
