Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service reported: “On arrival, firefighters closed the road and evacuated the building and used a gas monitor to check for a gas leak due to the gas meter being damaged in the collision.
“Luckily there was no structural damage to the building, only the fence and gas meter were damaged, but thankfully there were no gas leaks.
“The collision is thought to of been caused when the drivers hand slipped off the steering wheel and they lost control.”
Incident commander Jason Clifford said nobody was hurt in the incident and that he was surprised there was not more damage to the building or gas main.
He urged drivers to take care while driving and to fully concentrate on what they are doing when behind the wheel.
