A clothing store in Oxford city centre is set to close down.

The New Look store in the Westgate Centre will close its doors to customers next week, on June 17.

The shop is already advertising a 60 per cent off sale with many of the clothing items marked down.

A sign placed in the window of the store states: “Oxford, this isn’t goodbye…

“… its see you soon.

“We’re closing on Friday 17th June, but we’re never too far away.

“Visit our Witney or Wantage stores or shop online at newlook.com.”

This closure comes as an Oxford Mail investigation revealed there are more than 50 empty retail units in the city centre, with High Street housing a majority of the empty shops.

A New Look spokesperson said "staff are aware" of the closure however they do not have "any further information to share".
