A high-tech automotive company from Oxfordshire represented the cutting edge of UK cleantech at a trade show in Japan.

Saietta, a Bicester-based company which specialises in propulsion motors for a broad range of electric vehicles, exhibited at the JSAE (society of Automotive Engineers of Japan) Annual Congress in Yokohama, Japan between May 25 and 27.

The business presented as part of the UK Pavilion, a stand organised by the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) on behalf of the UK government, to showcase the very best of automotive innovation in the UK.

As part of the consortium, Saietta displayed its propulsion motors for a broad range of electric vehicles.

By highlighting some of the success stories to emerge from the UK’s clean automotive scene, the UK Pavilion demonstrated the appeal of the country’s automotive sector and the collaboration opportunities that are on offer.

JSAE was the first event in a series comprising the ‘Britain is Great’ international events programme.

Philippa Oldham, Director of Stakeholder Engagement at Advanced Propulsion Centre, said: “Our international events programme gives us a unique platform to showcase exactly why Britain is a prime location for investment and a world leader when it comes to automotive technology.

“As one of the cornerstones of the UK economy, it is essential that the sector continues to strengthen its clean technology capability.”
