OXFORDSHIRE celebrity Alexander Armstrong is urging residents to apply for the new series of Pointless.

The quiz show host tweeted that he is looking for new contestants for BBC programme.

Pointless, which debuted in 2009, consists of four teams of two contestants who attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions. The winning team are then eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot.

All the questions are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a public survey before the show.

Armstrong, who hosts the show with Richard Osman, tweeted: “We are looking for contestants for the next series of Pointless! Come and be part of the show!!”
