A father who lost his twin boys shortly after their birth has challenged himself to run an epic 4040km in this year as tribute to his sons.
With no previous running experience, Paul Masters, from Chinnor, near Wallingford, and his friends will run to raise money for Supporting Sick Newborn and their Parents (SSNAPS) 40th Anniversary Appeal.
They aim to run 4040km in tribute to the year 2020 when Mr Masters sons, James and Ryan, were born.

The team said: “We’re by no means seasoned runners, so we expect many twists and turns along the way. However, we know as a team we can be there to help each other out to complete this challenge and fulfil Paul and his wife’s, Siobhan, wishes in helping other parents and babies spending time in the neonatal intensive care unit.
“We only got to meet James & Ryan through photographs and memories from Paul, but those things would not have been there had it not been for the support they received from SSNAP.”
To thank those who were there to help his family at this critical time, Mr Masters decided in 2021 that he would run 365 miles over 365 days for the three local charities that supported him and his wife during this desperate time.
His ‘Running for the Boys’ Campaign raised a staggering £23,000 in memory of his sons.
