An arrest warrant was issued for a man accused of stealing a £4.39 train station sandwich.
Didcot man Kailum Day was due before Swindon Magistrates’ Court last week to answer charges of theft and assault by beating.
But when the 23-year-old failed to attend, the magistrates issued a warrant for his arrest. The warrant is not backed for bail, meaning the police must take him to court rather than release him on bail.
Day, of Queensway, Didcot, is accused of stealing a £4.39 sandwich from the Pumpkin café at Swindon train station on July 20 last year and assaulting a man at the station on the same date.
The charges have been brought by the British Transport Police.
