A VILLAGE has raised thousands of pounds to support the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
The people of Garsington collected more than £6,000 at a charity buffet dinner – including a donation of £1,000 from Oxford Business College.
The fundraiser was held at the Indian restaurant, Mughlai Manor in Garsington, with funds going to Disasters Emergency Committee’s ‘Afghanistan Crisis Appeal’.

Event organiser and owner of Mughlai Manor, Aziz Rahman, said: “I’m delighted with the response from everyone present at the event.
“The ones who couldn’t make it contributed by donating cash, or gifts and prizes.
“Special thanks to Oxford Business College for their generous donation and everyone who contributed to making it a successful evening.”
Oxford Business College managing director Padmesh Gupta added: “As a socially responsible organisation, Oxford Business College has a corporate social responsibility wing, which is actively contributing towards the society and less fortunate people locally and nationally.”
