A DRIVER has been fined more than £250 for driving in a public place without insurance.

Daphne Brown, 64 of Grovelands Court in Grove attended Oxford Magistrates' Court on December 21, after she was caught driving on the Reading Road in Wantage without third party insurance on November 8.

Brown pleaded guilty at Oxford Magistrates' Court and this was taken into account when imposing a sentence.

The driver was fined £256. She was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.00 and costs of £90, meaning she has to pay a total of £380.

In addition, Brown was also handed with six points on her driving record.
