A HUGE Christmas light display in one mum’s front garden took WEEKS to set up.
The switches were all finally switched on yesterday, and this is the result:
Nearly 30,000 twinkly lights with a giant Christmas tree and life-size reindeer can now be spotted on Chapel Way in Wantage.
Natasha Beames decided to do the biggest light show she’s ever seen at her house to raise loads of cash for a children’s cancer charity.
Her 15-year-old daughter, who has had cancer for 11 years, decided to raise cash for ‘Team Mikayla’ - a chairty which the pair are founders of.
Natasha, who is 40, said they put lights up every year, but this year wanted to go bigger and better than before.
Last year, she had a visit from Santa to wave at children as they walked past following lockdown rules.
They raised more than £1,000.
Last night, the family raised £225 from 60 people who waited outside the front of the house for the big switch-on reveal.
She shared pictures on Facebook and people commenting were seriously impressed.
Andrew Barber wrote: “Spectacular festive display. Done a great job.”
Kathryn Culverwell: “We went last year and it was brilliant. Can’t wait to see it this year!”
Clare Mowforth: “Will be taking the kids to see this and donating. Looks fab.”
Lights will stay on until January and Santa will visit every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas.
