Police have found a ‘seriously malnourished’ dog in a field.

Thames Valley Police found the dog following reports that a light coloured ‘lurcher type’ dog was chasing a hare in a field in the Warborough area.

The dog was sized by police on November 3 and was found to be a ‘seriously malnourished’ condition.

Police believe the dog has been used for hare coursing.

Hare coursing is a bloodsport where dogs are used to chase, catch and kill hares.

It is illegal in the UK under the Hunting Act 2004 and anyone convicted of the offence can receive a fine of up to £5,000 by a Magistrates’ Court.
