The case against an alleged robber was dropped as the victim ‘could not be found’.
Jordan Marks, 30, was accused of raiding a property in Kestrel Drive, Blackbird Leys.
It was alleged he stormed the home on November 14 last year, stole a number of cannabis plants from the property and attacked a man inside.
Appearing before Oxford Crown Court via video link on Wednesday afternoon, prosecutor Steven Attridge told Judge Nigel Daly: “The Crown’s position is that the complainant cannot be found. Extensive searches have been made.”
An attempt to go-ahead without the alleged victim – instead putting ‘hearsay’ evidence in front of a jury – was refused by a judge earlier this month.
“The matter has been reviewed and as a result I am instructed to offer no evidence,” Mr Attridge said.
Judge Daly formally recorded a not guilty verdict. Marks, of Sunnymead, Oxford, was not present at the hearing.
