Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on Monday evening.

At just before 9.40pm on Monday (12/07) officers were called to The Chequers Inn, The Green, following reports of a fight in progress involving a group of approximately 15 people.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Horsburgh said yesterday: “This was a large-scale disorder which occurred in the village at around 9.40pm last night.

“As a result of calls to police, officers responded and made several arrests at the scene.

“There are reports that vehicles were potentially being driven at the victims, and two people were taken to hospital.

“A scene-watch remains in place in the area and road closures have been put in place while the investigation continues.

“I would like to re-assure the local community that although this was a large-scale disorder, our officers responded very quickly and arrested four individuals.

“We believe at this early stage that the victims and offenders are known to each other and although we currently have a scene-watch in place, there is not a wider threat to the local community.

“I would urge anybody with any information to please call the 24-hour number 101, quoting reference 43210309282 or make a report online.
