A PRESCHOOL received 34 teddy bears for the children to enjoy during the picnic.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day is an annual celebration of stuffed toys, based on the popular children’s song “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic”.

Housebuilder’s Letcombe Gardens development donated teddy bears to near by Grovelands Park Preschool.

Donna Priestley, manager at Grovelands Park Preschool, said: “We were thrilled to accept the donation of teddy bears from David Wilson Homes and the children love them.

“We’re very grateful to have been thought of for the donation and the children thoroughly enjoyed the picnic with their new fuzzy friends.”

The day’s event let the children enjoy a picnic outdoors, play games and have fun with their new bears. The children were then able to take their new companions home with them.

Rob Allen, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “The pandemic has had an impact on the social events and parties young children would normally experience, so we hope the children at Grovelands Park Preschool had a great time during their Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
