AN OXFORD hospice has received a donation of £15,000 from the Rotary Club.

Throughout the past year, the Rotary Club of Oxford North has been raising funds for Sobell House - a hospice based at the Churchill Hospital in Headington, providing palliative care for those with life-limiting illnesses.

The money has been raised through various fundraising activities including a virtual walk to North America.

Last week, members of the club visited the hospice to present the cheque.

President of the club, Graham Shelton, said: “Sobell House Hospice is a wonderful charity doing incredible work.

“We at the Rotary Club of Oxford North are delighted to have achieved our ambitious fundraising target of £15,000, especially during such a challenging year.”

The total raised includes a £5,000 donation from local company Oxford PharmaGenesis Ltd who wanted to support the Rotary Club of Oxford North in their fundraising.

Diane Gardner, Chief Executive of Sobell House Hospice Charity, said: “We are so grateful to the Rotary Club of Oxford North and Oxford PharmaGenesis for their generosity and kindness.

“Our specialist care and support wouldn’t be possible without the support from our community.”

Sobell House celebrated its 45th anniversary earlier this year.
