Official figures show that as of 4pm on Sunday, a total of 35 new coronavirus cases were registered in the county.

This is a drop from 60 cases recorded on Saturday.

Oxford – 8
South Oxfordshire – 12
Cherwell – 8
West Oxfordshire – 4
Vale of White Horse – 3

The total number of coronavirus cases since the pandemic started are:
Oxford – 9,727
Oxfordshire – 34,516
UK – 4,516,892

The UK has recorded a further 4 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on June 6 and 5,341 new cases with 932 patients in hospital with coronavirus on June 3, Public Health England confirmed.

The health body recently changed the way it records the figures.

Cases identified through a positive lateral flow test – those which can deliver results within half an hour – will no longer be counted if the person then takes a PCR test, which is sent to a lab to be checked, and receives a negative result within three days.

The latest data shows that 40,333,231 people in the UK had been given a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine while 27,661,353 people had been given a second dose.
