CHILDREN can meet a new superhero at charity stores across the country from this weekend, with the first two stops set in Oxfordshire.

The Oxfordshire-based Children’s Air Ambulance will have its official mascot Blade – a yellow and green superhero bear with rotor blades on its back – visiting the Air Ambulance Service's charity shops.

Operated by The Air Ambulance Service, the national service is changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children.

Blade' s first stops on his roadshow is today at the Children’s Air Ambulance Abingdon Store.

The superhero will be there from 10am until12pm, and then it will head to the Headington Store from 1pm until 3pm.

Youth development manager for TCAA Anoushka Brown said: "We love our mascot and we cannot wait for locals to meet him."
