A MAN has been arrested after a suspected stabbing incident.

Police are appealing for information in connection with an incident in Cheltenham yesterday where a man suffered suspected stab wounds.

Eight men, including a man from Oxford, and one boy have been arrested in connection with the incident where a man suffered a suspected stab wound to his back last night around 11pm.

At 11.50 pm police were called by the ambulance service to lower Cheltenham High Street with a report that a man had sustained a suspected stab wound. 

Two 18-year-old men from Cheltenham were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 21-year-old man from Tyne and Wear was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 25-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.

A 17-year-old boy from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.

An 18-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A 23-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A 20-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a class B drug. A 22-year-old man from Evesham was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and affray.

The eight men, and the boy, remain in police custody today.

It appears all those involved knew each other.
