A CARE worker has appeared at court after ‘humiliating’ a vulnerable man.

Olakunle Akinbami, of Rivermead Road, Oxford, appeared in the dock of Oxford Maigstrates’ Court on April 6 charged with ill-treating and wilfully neglecting a man between November 24 and 25, 2019 in Oxford.

The 39-year-old was jailed for four weeks, suspended by 12 months.

In the court documents, it described how the ‘experienced’ care worker had ‘humiliated the elderly man’ and 'breached his trust'.

Her guilty plea was taken into account as well as her ‘remorse’ and the ‘effect that prison would have on her and her family’.

She was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £122 and court costs of £85.
