A FORMER choirboy is releasing a CD to help fund his friend’s cancer treatment – and he needs to get it recorded before his voice breaks.

Archie White, 14, is aiming to raise funds for five charities, including one supporting his friend, who has an aggressive form of cancer.

Firstly though, Archie, from Great Milton, is crowdfunding in order to cover the costs of putting the CD together.

His mum, Elizabeth Scott-Moncrieff, said: “Archie has a particular love of the Baroque to early classical periods and wishes to record, professionally, some of the music that means so much to him, before his voice changes.

“Archie’s plan is to raise money for charities that mean something to him.

“However, because of the huge costs associated with recording, it is necessary to crowdfund for anything to take place, by pre-ordering a copy of the CD.”

Any funds left after the cost of recording and releasing the CD will be donated to charity.

Producing the CD will include costs such as venue hire, instrumental accompaniment and editing.

In return, donators will be sent a signed copy of the CD.

Archie’s mum added: “The current restrictions have meant that he has been unable to perform in public, during what may have been the most productive year for his treble voice.

“He would like to distil this untapped energy into something meaningful and lasting.”

Archie is a former chorister at Magdalen College.
