A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a fight in South Oxfordsire in which a man claimed he was racially abused.

Police arrested a 45-year-old woman on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence after an incident, which took place at about 8pm on Monday, at the entrance of Elms Park from Park Street, Thame.

The altercation took place between a 25-year-old man and the woman at the entrance of the park in which both people reported being assaulted.

The man also reported that the woman racially abused him.

Later that day, three people approached the man’s home in Van Diemans Road and damaged his front door.

A 20-year-old man and a 47-year-old man have also been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence.

The three people arrested are all from Thame and all have been released on bail to appear at Abgindon police station on February 14.

Investigating officer, PC Henry North, based at Abingdon police station, said: "I am appealing for information about either of these two incidents.
