The Covid-19 alert level for Oxford City will move to ‘high’ tomorrow and Oxford University will continue to remain open.

In line with Government guidance, the University will continue to operate with no current changes planned to teaching.

Students will not be allowed to move back and forth between their permanent home and student address during term time.

College households must be 'strictly adhered to', and no visitors to college households will be allowed.

The University says there may be some other changes to colleges’ Covid-secure policies and operations, and further information will be provided in the near future.

Oxford University on Monday reported 208 new positive tests from its own testing service in a week.

Oxford Brookes is also remaining open, following Government guidance, and teaching will continue.

It added in a statement: “We have communicated the change in alert level and what the new restrictions mean to our student and staff body, stressing the importance of following the rules to protect the whole community.”
