AN OXFORD school has had its first confirmed case of Covid-19 among students.

Cheney School headteacher Rob Pavey sent an email, seen by this paper, to staff yesterday.

Teachers of the student, all Year 9 parents, and all the parents of students who will need to self-isolate have been contacted.

The school is working with Public Health England to reduce the numbers who need to self-isolate by identifying those who were actually in close contact to the pupil.
