A WOMAN in Yarnton has said a duck-shaped tomato she grew in her garden tasted ‘no different’ to a normal one.

Juli Cohen, who found the bird-shaped fruit on one of her plants, said there must be something in the water in Yarnton’.

Mrs Cohen sent photos of her find into the Oxford Mail after we published another Yarnton local’s duck-shaped potato.

Earlier this week, gardener Tim Aris made his spudtastic discovery when he found a potato at his allotment in the village that he said was the spitting image of a rubber duck.

After seeing the a-peeling photos of the potato duck on our website, Mrs Cohen thought she better ketchup and send in her quacking pictures of the tomato.

Mrs Cohen, who lives in Yarnton with her husband, Sam, and their three children, said: “Someone sent me the link on Facebook after we posted a picture of our duck tomato, suggesting that this was becoming a trend in Yarnton.”

The proud gardener added: “We do get the occasional misshapen vegetable, but nothing quite as cute as the duck tomato.”

After his initial find, Mr Aris later dug up even more poultry-like potatoes, when he uncovered ‘a small family of potato ducks’.

What made his spudtacular discovery even stranger was that he had a dream that week that he was being ‘chased by a duck.’

Unlike Mr Aris, Mrs Cohen had not any dreams about ducks prior to her harvest collection, but she did say: “It was the cutest tomato I have ever grown and it was delicious!”

Who knows how long the vegtastic trend will continue but all these duck-shaped veggies are really quacking everybody up.
