PUPILS due to return to school today after self-isolation have been told to stay at home for another week.

Parents of Year 3 pupils at Mudeford Junior were told yesterday that there has been another suspected case of coronavirus involving an adult working with the year group.

The adult is currently waiting for the results of a Covid-19 test.

In a letter to parents, head teacher Mark Partridge said: "We are asking that your child remains at home until the test result comes back.

"I know this is disappointing news but the safety of our pupils, staff and wider community are paramount."

The pupils were sent home last week after an adult, who last worked in the school on Tuesday September 8, tested positive.

They were due to return today, two weeks after their last contact with the affected adult.

Mr Partridge said the children will no longer need to self-isolate unless the latest test is positive.

They can return to class on Wednesday September 30.
