A STUDENT has hit out after dropping four grades on A-level results day.

The Cherwell School pupil Kit Joubert, 18, says the Government has done a 'terrible job' and that any hopes of him going to a good university are gone.

Mr Joubert said he dropped two grades in computing and one each in his other subjects.

He said: "The system of predicted grades is an accurate way of measuring ones performance.

"Furthermore, the predicted grades were given out pre-coronavirus therefore could not be biased in order to promote a school in the league tables.

"I was predicted AAB in subjects of which I had received A*A*B at GCSE level.

"After two years of hard work it’s honestly mentally tiring to see that I’m further in limbo as I begin an appeal process through my school - because as an individual, I have no power against UCAS.

"Dropping four grades now further clouds my future, where do I go? Will I get a place at uni?

"I’ve been let down by the Government. I don’t know whether it’s because of my postcode, my school’s postcode, the fact my school is a state, there’s no clarity and no way to clearly do something about what’s gone wrong.

"The education board, like with the International Baccalaureate, like with Scotland’s grades, has failed us again.

"We demand retribution for individual pupils who have received unfair grades."

Mr Joubert said he had offers from Exeter and York, prior to his results today.
